Aruba Dam. Aruba Dam was built in 1952 across the Voi River. The reservoir created by the dam attracts many animals and water birds.

Game sighted in Tsavo East extends to the black faced vervet monkey, Sykes' monkey, fringe-eared oryx, clawless otter, ground pangolin, crested porcupine, cane rat, giant rat, naked mole rat, ratel, bohor reedbuck, black rhinoceros, serval, spectacled elephant shrew, bush squirrel, East African red squirrel, striped ground squirrel, unstriped ground squirrel, suni, warthog, waterbuck, common zebra and Grevy's zebra.
Birds. Over 500 bird species have been recorded in the area, including ostriches, kestrels, buzzards, starlings, weaver birds, kingfishers, hornbills, secretary birds and herons.

Detailed 2017/2018 Tsavo East 1 Day safari Itinerary
You will be picked at approximately 0530 hrs from your hotel in Mombasa north or south coast for departure on your 1 day Tsavo East day trip.
We will drive along the Nairobi – Mombasa road on a tarmac road for about 2-hours and then take a short break right at the Tsavo East Bachuma gate for a photo session.
Thereafter, enter Tsavo East National Park and commence your wildlife game viewing drive particularly searching for elephants, lions, cheetahs, antelopes, and other animal species.
Lunch will be at a Safari Lodge within Tsavo East National Park.
After lunch at Voi Safari Lodge, you will take another game drive within the Tsavo East National Park to conclude this exciting Tsavo East safari day tour.
